Yes, all our pergolas require additional materials. Our pergolas require pressure treated lumber for the exterior posts as well as (some models) 2×6 pressure treated lumber for the main beams and rafters. Depending on your installation, you may also need our surface mount screw brackets. Please use the search function on our website to find your pergola.

Most of our pergolas can be customized to some extent. Traditional pergolas or pergolas in the form of beams and rafters can be easily modified. This would require cutting the vinyl to size and adjusting the placement of the bars. When modifying a pergola, pay attention to wood posts and 2x6s. When cutting vinyl coverings, we recommend using a saw blade with fine teeth. Converting a pergola with blinds is technically feasible, but can be complicated and time-consuming. We do not offer assembly services. We recommend that you contact a local fencing and decking company in your area. The ideal installer would have experience working with vinyl products.

Aluminum Galaxy Pergola

No, the slats do not close completely. They can be set at an angle of 45 degrees in any direction and provide approximately 90% shade coverage. There is always 4” between boards for openings. The reason they don’t close completely is that rain or snow can pass through freely and not accumulate on top of the pergola.

We recommend using only the Vita mount with screws. We have designed and tested these brackets for the best performance with our pergolas. Non-shelf holders are not recommended.

No, we do not recommend installation on patio pavers. Patio pavers are not secure enough and can cause movement in the pergola over time. Ideally, screw holders should be installed on a concrete slab patio or wooden deck. (see user manual for full details)

No, we recommend that you do not add a solid roof to any of our pergolas. A solid roof can add additional stress to the pergola due to rain/snow or possible wind.
