Pergola Xmas Decorations – Yay sweet foxes!! I’m excited to be here to share a sneak peek of the new patio and pergola with you. The guys finished it a while ago, but it was too late in the season for a real reveal. You know I want to decorate everything, and I want to be full of flowers for you!! Until then, Jimmy and I added some Christmas cheer and lit a bonfire, welcome!! 

I run up and down stairs on all my daily commutes, ok so I don’t run…but I do carry myself up and down stairs many times a day. And when I do that, I often look at the new pergola. And the centerpiece is our egg chairs.

Well, my wheels are starting to turn and even though our pergola is open and I live in the PNW…I thought, I thought my new garlands would look really cute on these egg chairs. And guys really!!

I usually try to keep things on the realistic side, but if you can’t have a little Christmas, when can you? 

I admit, I couldn’t let anything go…it was fun creating a Christmas hearth and flexing my style muscles. So thanks for cheering me on! 

The garlands and grill fillers were pre-lit so it was very quick to place the grill fillers on the grills and place the garlands on top of the egg chairs. It actually took me longer to try and get that red lamp next to the hive! Okay, it took me longer to get to that lamp level. Because I kind of… I’m type A. I was going to get that lamp level and that was it. lol

After I took these photos to share with you, Jim and I got comfortable and chatted outside until the fire died down. We like to sit outside without any distractions and catch up.

There’s something about being outside, and fire makes it more beautiful. Despite the cozy blankets and that extra-thick red plaid, the chilly air (and missed dinner) eventually brought us inside.

Here is the desirable season and we enjoy spending the night outside when time permits. While my husband and I were putting up lights and adding seasonal fun to the garden areas, we decided to decorate the pavilion too! After a thorough cleaning, we knew some color and hanging strings of Christmas lights were on our agenda. What was the easiest way to add more threads to the search engine? I’ll share it with you below and some tips on what to add!

We used a set of pendant lights from National Hardware Made By Me. This kit allowed me to hang multiple layers of lights with very little effort!

As long-time avid DIYers, we appreciate having everything you need in one convenient kit! This is a strong cable and as you can see we attached many layers of cords.

Determine the layout of your lighting installation. Mark and pre-drill with a screw gun for long screw hooks. The attachment points must be on solid surfaces such as poles or trees.

Install the screw hooks by rotating them as shown. The screw hook will be the starting point for hanging your wire.

Then you are ready to install the system. Take the loop you just created and hang it on the hook of the screw. Next, take the wire and pull it through the two eye hooks at opposite ends of the gazebo.

Take the wire to the last post and determine how much wire you will need to make the second loop as shown in step 4. Make a double ring and attach it to one end of the turnbuckle. Tighten the tensioner by turning and attach it to the rear ear hook.

The pendant light hardware kit is designed to hang the lights on a string, so start with the twist ties that secure and attach as many strings as you want. If necessary for aesthetic reasons, cut the excess knots on the turns.
